Is it possible for a student to get a mortgage in the UK?

I am a PhD student and my wife is a student nurse. We’d love to get a foot on the property ladder because renting is just too insecure. Is there anyone out there in my position who has a success story they could share with me?

I hear ya John – as a doctoral student I have a teaching position in my department, and both my wife and I have other jobs…

You need income… not just student loans.
